Meal preparation services involve having a caregiver come to a client's home to prepare and cook food in the home. Caregivers can work with clients to create an appropriate meal plan, considering all dietary restrictions, and can take care of tasks like grocery shopping and cleaning as part of the service.

Our specially trained, bonded, and insured caregivers can transport you in their vehicle or your own vehicle (conditions apply). We will assist you to the vehicle and accompany you during every moment of your trip, with your safety and well-being as our number one priority. When your trip is complete, we will get you settled back at your home.

About Us

PLECS Homecare is a licensed home health service provider that is dedicated to providing compassionate and excellent homecare services to the elderly and disabled adults. Our services include helping with activities of daily living such as meal preparations, personal hygiene, dressing and grooming, light housekeeping, groceries shopping, and assisting clients with mobility.

 

We are owned and operated by a highly trained registered nurse, and a highly skilled nurse assistant who have over ten years of experience in the homecare environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist with toileting needs

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Certification with accredited training course through the State of California and current certification through American Heart Association in Basic Life
  • 2 years of nursing assistant experience

Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Enables clients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording client condition, providing support and personal services, and teaching families.
  • Monitors client condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
  • Supports clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands.
  • Assists clients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Helps clients care for themselves by teaching use of cane or walker, special utensils to eat, special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene.
  • Helps family members care for the client by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and re-position the client.
  • Advises on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
  • Records client information by making entries in the client journal and notifying nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy client environment by following asepsis standards and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards.
  • Protects the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR/FA, 1 & 2 (within 6-12 months of hire), and CPI certification
  • Any state-mandated certification
  • Minimum 1+ year(s) professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors
  • Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years
  • Must be over 21 years old

We are looking for a compassionate, attentive Companion to care for and assist our clients to ensure they lead safe, healthy lives. The Companion will provide emotional support as clients heal or cope with disabilities, aging, sickness, or surgery. They will take care of basic housekeeping, prepare meals, remind clients to take medication, help clients engage in activities and social events, and perform other tasks to help clients feel safe and supported. You should have strong communication and planning skills and be willing to meet the physical demands of the position and comply with all safety, medical, and dietary directions. To be a successful Companion, you should be focused on providing the best possible care and support for your clients. You should be sympathetic, responsible, attentive, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities:


  • Engaging clients by conversing with them and planning and attending them as they participate in appropriate social activities and hobbies.
  • Handling basic housekeeping, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, organizing, and laundry.
  • Planning and preparing meals for clients, taking dietary restrictions, and preferences into consideration.
  • Taking a genuine interest in clients by listening to their needs, ensuring that their environment is clean and safe, and providing them with proper food and medication.
  • Monitoring clients, recording and reporting any developments or concerns to appropriate parties, such as company supervisors, doctors, or family members.
  • Driving clients to planned outings or events.
  • Handling errands for or with clients, such as grocery shopping, paying bills, writing letters, etc.
  • Providing emotional support for clients as they heal or cope with their conditions.

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • More education, experience, specific skills or interests, or training may be preferred.
  • Fluency in the client’s language may be required.
  • Excellent references and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication, listening, planning, housekeeping, and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting or support clients and stand, walk, bend, or crawl for extended periods.
  • First aid. CPR or nursing training may be a plus.
  • Caring, sympathetic approach to working with clients.
  • Willingness to follow directions and adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and dietary, exercise, and medication plans.
